- 13 Railbikes = Max 26 people per trip / time slot
- You must arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time
- Pedal-assist motor is available for use the entire trip
- Minimum Age:
- Children must be 3 years of age and cannot be carried on lap, railbikes are not suited for children under 44″
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Railbike Operator must be 16 years of age to operate railbike.
- The maximum weight is 250 pounds (per rider)
- Experience one of the few railroad switchbacks in America
- The journey includes a short stop at The Fruit Company’s historic factory (food, historical exhibits, shopping, and photo opportunities).
What to Wear & Bring:
- Casual sports attire is suggested.
- Close toed shoes are required.
- Helmets are suggested but not required.
- Water is suggested.
- If the forecast is chilly or rainy, it’s a good idea to have a proper jacket, hat, gloves.
- Note: there is a basket on the railbike to hold your personal items.
- If you choose to tip, you might want to have some cash on hand.
What Not To Bring:
- Since we are family-friendly, no weapons are allowed. Even if you have a conceal-carry license for a gun, we ask that you leave your weapon in your car. This also applies to all knives and any other weapons.
What to Expect:
Our custom-built, two-person railbikes offer the ultimate immersive railway experience. Enjoy pedaling a railbike leisurely on the train track through some of the most picturesque scenery in the United States. After crossing a bridge, you will meander along the Hood River towards Mt. Hood, through pine trees, next to a small waterfall, past a rare switchback, and through to orchard & vineyard country. The motorized two-person bikes are designed to climb up the valley with minimal effort, so you can carry conversations with ease. Once you reach The Fruit Company in about 5.5 miles, a break allows you to take a short tour of their factory and historic museum, as well as visit the gift shop, get some refreshments, and snap some photos before heading back down the hill to the train station. Pedal your way through the Hood River Valley with a friendly, local guide, taking in the sights like never before. The entire round-trip takes approximately 2.4 hours, but the memories will last a lifetime.
