Arrival: We HIGHLY RECOMMEND arriving at least 40 minutes ahead of your scheduled departure time to allow time to pay for parking, checking in, and using the restroom. A MANDATORY safety briefing will begin about 20 minutes prior to departure on how to properly use the bike. Since this safety session is essential for everyone's well-being, anyone arriving less than 20 minutes before departure and misses the training will not be permitted to join the tour due to safety regulations.

Important TRAVEL ALERT >> Construction during Summer 2026: If you are traveling eastbound on I-84 from the Portland area, please plan ahead and allow additional travel time. Due to the ongoing construction, traffic is frequently reduced to the one lane and delays of 20 minutes, or more are common. We recommend planning to depart earlier than usual and checking traffic online to ensure you arrive on time for your scheduled tour. Another option might be to take Highway 14 on the Washington side.

Note: Check calendar for availabilities. Railbikes run outdoors, so always dress accordingly. However, in the event of extreme weather, we may need to cancel bookings due to safety reasons. If that unfortunate event happens, you will be fully compensated.

Parking: Parking is available onsite with our new parking system located at 110 Railroad Avenue in Hood River... we encourage you to choose the 4 hour option when you arrive to allow ample time for your experience.

Tip: please make sure your directions do not take you to Mt. Angel since there is another town in Oregon with the same street address.
Maximum Weight: 250 pounds per rider (500 pounds max)
Railbike Operator: Must be 16 years of age to operate railbike.
Waivers: After a reservation is booked, please have online waivers completed for EVERYONE who will be riding. A confirmation email contains a unique URL that connects each group to the reservation, so please forward the confirmation email to all other adults who will be riding, so they can complete the online waiver form. *THOSE UNDER 16* must have a parent/guardian complete the waiver prior to arrival.
No Smoking or Vaping: Smoking and vaping is not allowed on the railbike trip for the enjoyment of others and protection of the environment.

Our Railbikes run outdoors, so be sure to dress appropriately.
In the event of extreme weather, we may need to cancel bookings due to safety reasons.

What to Wear & Bring:

Casual sports attire is suggested.
Close toed shoes are required.
Helmets are suggested but not required.
Water is suggested.
If the forecast is chilly or rainy, it’s a good idea to have a proper jacket, hat, gloves.
Note: there is a basket on the railbike to hold your personal items.
If you choose to tip, you might want to have some cash on hand.

What Not To Bring:

Since we are family-friendly, no weapons are allowed. Even if you have a conceal-carry license for a gun, we ask that you leave your weapon in your car. This also applies to all knives and any other weapons.

What to Expect:

Our custom-built, two-person railbikes offer the ultimate immersive railway experience. Enjoy pedaling a railbike leisurely on the train track through some of the most picturesque scenery in the United States. After crossing a bridge, you will meander along the Hood River towards Mt. Hood, through pine trees, next to a small waterfall, past a rare switchback, and through to orchard & vineyard country. The motorized two-person bikes are designed to climb up the valley with minimal effort, so you can carry conversations with ease. Once you reach The Fruit Company in about 5.5 miles, a break allows you to take a short tour of their factory and historic museum, as well as visit the gift shop, get some refreshments, and snap some photos before heading back down the hill to the train station. Pedal your way through the Hood River Valley with a friendly, local guide, taking in the sights like never before. The entire round-trip takes approximately 2.4 hours, but the memories will last a lifetime.
